A GNUstep developer meeting will be held in Bruxelles (Belgium), during
Fosdem 2004 on 21-22 February 2004. Fosdem is the annual Free and Open source Software Developers' European Meeting, and provides a natural framework for GNUstep developers to meet.
GNUstep and
(
http://www.opengroupware.org/) will share a booth, and the Janson room could be used Sunday Morning for talks. As
the period is quite short (10 am to 12 or 13pm) talks should be quite short too -- 15 or 20 minutes for example ?
You want to be there to meet the GNUstep developers in person.
The first GNUstep developer meetings, held during Fosdem 2002 and
Fosdem 2003, have been a
success. GNUstep developers, programmers, users, fans, and curious had an occasion to meet and talk in a very friendly and informal atmosphere.
We hope to repeat this succesful experience during Fosdem 2004.
The focus of the meeting is more on meeting each other, rather than on formal conferences, but we still plan to organize a small agenda of talks about interesting GNUstep topics, to be held by major developers and contributors. They can be a starting point for further discussions, or simply an occasion to learn more about specific GNUstep topics. Stay tuned on these pages for more info.
We'd also like to invite a wider public to our talks and conferences, but that's not necessarily easy.

One of the main reasons people attend the meeting is that you can meet, and talk directly to, other developers, whom you would otherwise meet only virtually (on mailing lists, emails, newsgroups, irc etc). We expect many lead developers and contributors to be present, so if you have never met them, you can't miss this occasion!

note : theses aren't yet the definitive talks, just proposed. It would be good to see some talks about OpenGroupware.org too !
nicola pero and nicolas roard (nicolas at roard dot com)

Helge suggested to make a joint effort for
OpenGroupware.org and GNUstep given that both projects have a lot to share.not much above that price including single supplement
There were many people in fosdem this year. Having a booth was in fact a very positive thing, as we were able to distribute gnustep presentations brochures (a few hundred, I don't know the exact number), explain things about gnustep (many people seems to think that gnustep is a fork of windowmaker... *sigh*), do some demonstrations... All in all we got good feedbacks, and it sure was more effective for showing a bit gnustep than having our dev room, where not much curious would have come ... We also had Janson's room for two hours sunday morning, so we did a quick gorm demo, and a quick tour of OpenGroupware, but sadly, not many people were here others than gnustep/skyrix guys...
Anyway, it was interesting; but for next year, we definitely want to organize a better GNUstep presence ! (at least, get us a booth plus a dev room, better organize the booth (posters...), and hopefully set one (or more:) official talk)
Here is some photos of the event. If you have others, please add them !
